WHY I\’LL NEVER STOP WEARING POLKA DOTS

It looks like I have polka dots on the brain, because based on some recent Instagram posts, I have polka dot crazy! I keep gravitating to spotted outfits or certain pieces in my closet because it\’s such a fun pattern and also easy to mix and match! Or in this case, wear those dots from head to toe.

When I recently wore this look, I had several ladies ask me if it was a dress, and it\’s not, it\’s actually a two piece- a full skirt and a ruffled blouse I scored at Target. Seriously, Target, you\’re winning the fashion game. The skirt, linked here, is now on clearance for $20! The blouse is also on sale for $18! I spot a steal (see what I did there?!)

I couldn\’t decide on picking between the blouse or the skirt, so I got both because I knew these were pieces I could wear over and over and not get tired of them. I\’ve already worn them separately- the skirt with a graphic tee and a tropical print strapless cami, the blouse with a velvet skirt and with my jeans.

And when you\’re talking about accessories, the black and white color combination is a fresh palette to play around with shoe options! I wanted to make a statement with my heels and I LOVE these neon ones from Chiffino. Whenever I know something is going to be a trend piece, I try not to break the bank, because I know it can be fleeting. When it came to wanting a pair of neon heels, I knew that I would find them at Chiffino and it wouldn\’t hurt my pockets! They have such a vast selection of shoes for the whole family and at crazy affordable prices! Look at these neon heels, similar to mine for only $34?! They\’re a must!

You can keep this look classic as well with a pair of black heels, or go a little retro with some fabulous red pumps and a red lip! There are so many flavors for this look!

Keeping with the playful trend, I opted for my black heart shaped shades and these gorgeous parrot statement earrings from local retailer, Shine Design and Shop. You can find them at the Wynwood Shops! If you notice, there\’s some hint of neon in the earrings that coordinate with the heels! I love little details like that.

Another big trend that we saw this season and seems to be going strong through fall, is the clear handbag! It hit the runway and the blogosphere hard! We\’ve seen it in tote form, cross body, fannies, and clutches. I like to call it the peek boo handbag, because it gives people a tiny glimpse of your personal life depending on what you decide to display (so maybe not the bag if you\’re carrying a tampon or a max ipad lol). So make sure you style that transparent handbag right!

I guarantee that polka dots will still be making a splash this fall, and whether you want to channel your inner old Hollywood glam with a vintage style polka dot look, or a more modern and sleek dotted vibe next time you step out for dinner, make sure you make a statement while doing it, because all eyes will be on you!
